To use your new gun you have to equip it, Please follow these steps to equip your new gun.
Tap the “Store” and select the type of weapon you are looking for(Assault/Sniper/Heavy), on entering the weapon section, swipe left/right to the gun you need and tap "Equip".
The current weapon(s) selected for missions will be displayed on your home screen. Also, remember that you have to switch to secondary weapon in fight to use your secondary weapons.
