Certain versions of MLB players in the game have one or more Player Skill associated with them. Players with available skills will show a skill icon in the outer area of their player portrait.
 
When a user acquires a player who has a skill, it will start off at skill level 0 and can be upgraded through normal gameplay.

Batter Skills

"Left-handed pitcher" batter skill icon is a green circle containing a silhouette of a pitcher throwing a ball with their left hand; they are facing to the left.
