Just as you use the PLUS (+) icon to add decor atop furniture, selected Challenges will feature the same icon for rugs. Tap the PLUS icon after placing an owned rug down in select Challenges and a second rug bubble will appear to achieve this chic, modern spin on rugs.

Just like all rugs in-game, this is completely OPTIONAL and all rug bubbles can still be filled with one or no rug.
