Only new Stars earned when playing a level will be added to your total. If the level you played already has all Stars collected, you cannot earn any more Stars from that level. In the image below, Level 7 has no more available Stars to earn.

 

 

In this image, Level 8 has one Satr that can still be earned. Reach the goal for three Stars to add that Star to your total! But please note, that the two Stars you have already earrned will not be added to your total.

 

 

Another way to confirm if you;'ve already earned a Star is during the level outro. A green checkmark will indicate that those stars hav already been earned.
